Pros and Cons of Nuclear Plant | Chernobyl


There are 440 operable power reactors in the world. The USA is at the top of the list. Europe is second on the list. We prefer nuclear plants to produce electricity and less pollution. Their reactor uses nuclear fission to generate electricity and all reactors are controlled and monitored. Sometimes we have a problem like Chernobyl!




So what are the pros and cons of a nuclear plant?

Some countries have nuclear plants. Such as the US, France, China, Russia, and Japan. And others, build nuclear plants like countries Turkey, Iran,, and Argentina. These countries have a goal. More energy less pollution! And we know that pollution of the nuclear plants is less than fossil fuels.



What about cons?

There are some problems If a country has a nuclear plant. For instance radiation, nuclear waste, and explosion! Humans experienced a nuclear explosion in April 1986 at the No. 4 reactors in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant! It was one of the most hazardous events in historical times. According to studies, almost 30 km square was affected by radiation. The Chernobyl area isn't safe to live in for 20,000 years. People were suffering from cancer, radiation sickness.
